THE GRIM REEFERS // BAND REVIEW

When introduced to Rootie Doobie (guitarist/vocalist) and Token Tootie (drummer) aka, The Grim Reefers, you’ll feel a psychedelic punch to the face.

This two piece from “Parts Unknown” is a throwback to a much simpler time. They’re like Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie had a trippy hippy baby that really liked testosterone boosters and pot. For a band that does mostly covers, their rendition of Blue Öyster Cult’s Don’t Fear the Reaper is phenomenal.

As a gimmicky band, The Grim Reefers are as real as it gets. This band personifies enjoying yourself and good ol’ rock ‘n’ roll. Their sets consist of a whole lot of cowbell. So, if you have a fever and the only way to cure it is with some more cowbell; then Grim Reefers is a band to keep an eye on.

If you’d like to check out The Grim Reefers, you can usually find them playing local house shows around Wichita Falls, Texas.
